Install

ReliaEn runs on 64-bit Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) and Windows 11. On older or 32-bit Windows, and on Windows on Arm, the installer stops and tells you why. The System requirements page gives the details.

  1. Download the installer from the Download page.

  2. Optional: check that the download is complete and correct. Open PowerShell in the download folder and run the command below. Compare the result with the SHA-256 checksum on the Download page.

    Get-FileHash .\ReliaEn-Setup-1.0.0.exe -Algorithm SHA256

The installer contains everything ReliaEn needs. You do not need to install other software first. Choose one of two options:

  • For your own Windows user (default). This needs no administrator rights. ReliaEn installs into the programs folder of your user.
  • For all users of the computer. Select this option on the first page of the installer. Windows asks for administrator rights. ReliaEn installs into Program Files.

The first time you run the installer, Windows may show “Windows protected your PC”. Select More info, then Run anyway. Windows shows the publisher of the signed installer. Before you run the installer, compare its SHA-256 checksum with the one on the Download page.

Until you install a licence, ReliaEn opens in read-only mode. You can open and read files, but you cannot run analyses. The licence can be the free 30-day trial or a licence that you bought. To get a licence, see Licence and moving to a new computer.

Silent installation for system administrators

Section titled “Silent installation for system administrators”

Run this command as administrator to install ReliaEn for the current Windows user without any window:

ReliaEn-Setup-1.0.0.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /CURRENTUSER

To install for all users of the computer, use /ALLUSERS instead of /CURRENTUSER. Always give one of these two options. Without one, the installer stops at its install-mode page.

In Windows, open Settings ▸ Apps ▸ Installed apps, find “ReliaEn” and select Uninstall. Your projects and your computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) files stay where you saved them.
